Winter holiday inspire me glossy smokey eyes and free license to wear the boldest lips, nothing to do with my everyday makeup. This year I’ve decided to make my Christmas makeup and hair the brightest spot of my Christmas season outfits following the smartest fashion tip I’ve recently read, the one that Jane Keltner de Valle – the Fashion News Director of Glamour US – shared at Garance Doré.
If you’re going to a dinner party, decorate from the waist up because you’ll be sitting most of the evening and that’s all anyone will see. Peter Copping, the Creative Director at Oscar de la Renta, once told me that and I thought it was such a smart point.

Pretty obvious, huh? But truth is I’ve spent so many dinner parties giving my best on waist down, especially focusing on the shoes, that I never took the time to be really creative on doing my hair and makeup. As I said, this year I’m commited to go wild on winter beauty (there’s a plum lipstick waiting to be first-used on my makeup stash, nothing else to add) and will try to bring the garments to a lower stage. That means I won’t buy nothing for the occasion, no more one shot gowns, shirts or heels, but instead I’ll give a twist to my basics combined with my most festive-like clothing and shoes. So here you have the appetizers inside the beauty menu for 2015 Holiday season – some Christmas makeup ideas to give your best face to the last selfies of the year.
